hi just wondering if u can help just bought an 03 blob eye impreza wrx which has had complete engine rebuild by api including forged omega pistons con rods etc ive noticed when cold on idle and light throttle there is a knocking noise from the engine which is quite loud it will do it when warm too but doesnt do it when under load or anything its done about 7k since rebuild any clue what this may be without seeing it.. thanks |

Hi Glyn - An Impreza engine can be noisy without it actually meaning there\'s anything seriously wrong with it. The piston/bore clearance is critical and even a little bit over the optimum dimension can cause piston slap, especially on \"slipper\" piston designs. It\'s all relative, and without actually hearing it, I couldn\'t say one way or another if it needs attention. |
