| Question:
hi alan, i sent you a question over 2 weeks ago about my radiator fan not working because my relay got burnt and ive had my fan cooling switch changed about 8 times in the past 10 months, and you said to ask my mechanic to check the earth so he did also i had another radiator fan cooling switch put in, the car was fine for 2 weeks but 2 days ago the fan stopped working again and the fan cooling switch is the problem, why does the fan cooling switch keep blowing, i just dont understand??? also when the fan did come on the temp was above normal, but the fan stays on for a very long time before it goes off, when the temp gauge is right to the bottom?? thankyou so much for your time. |

| Answer:
The switch is responsible for controlling the fan, but shouldn't be carrying much current, that's what the relay is for, the switch should just provide enough power to operate the relay. At this stage, I'd suggest getting an auto electrician in there, who may be able to make more sense of the system. It sounds like it's either shorted, or wired up wrong. |
