Question: hi alan i have a 1988 escort rs turbo when the boost comes on it gets to 12 psi and backfires very loud,it has a turbo systems chip piper cam radtec full front intercooler,any help would be great,thank,s paul
Answer: That sounds like a boost cut. Ideally I'd take a look at it myself. It may possibly have a fault with the map sensor, not uncommon.

Question: hi alan i have a 1995 impreza that u recently changed all the engine seals for me we have now put the engine back in and its got a real bad miss fire expecaily between 2000 and 3000rpm we did change the spark plugs whilst the engine was out have you any ideas what may be causing this many thanks james
Answer: Hi James - Check the plug gaps, .75mm should do it for stock boost, also check the coil packs. Try peeling back the rubber boots to see if any are split. It sounds like a HT fault! Failing that, book it in ..

Question: hi thanks for the reply about the capri pistons ,was the price per piston or for the 6 also if i had them machined flat how long would you need them for and how much would be taken off , and do you sell the breather diverter valve and how much would that cost? thanks for the help
Answer: That's for the set of six! I believe the valves are available from TT, but the cost was up around £35 the last time I asked..
